Overview
The Welder position at Hanwha Philly Shipyard involves performing various welding tasks in a heavy shipyard construction environment while adhering to safety procedures and quality standards. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding processes and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Hanwha Philly Shipyard safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in heavy shipyard construction welding in all positions using approved WPS.
- Perform welding processes including FCAW, SMAC, SAW, EGW, automated welding, and stainless steel fillet welding.
- Pad and prepare weld joints per WPS.
- Conduct carbon arc gouging as needed.
- Interpret approved WPS set forth at Hanwha Philly Shipyard.
- Use all tools related to welding and maintain welding equipment.
- Demonstrate welding ability through performance and testing.
- Work in a team environment and perform internal quality checks of own work.
- Maintain individual NDT rejection standards set by Hanwha Philly Shipyard.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 3+ years of work experience welding, with a preference for flux core and ceramic.
- Knowledge of welding robotics and programming is a plus.
