Overview

Universal Technical Institute is seeking an experienced welder to become a Welding Instructor, providing an opportunity to mentor and educate the next generation of welders. The role emphasizes hands-on learning and interactive teaching to prepare students for successful careers in various industries.

Responsibilities

  • Create an engaging and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training.
  • Collaborate with the education team to enhance and develop courses.
  • Guide and mentor students on their individual projects.
  • Instill the importance of safety procedures and best practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3-5 years of practical work experience in the field.
  • Technical skills in MIG, TIG, stick and flux-cored welding, oxy-acetylene torch work, plasma cutting, and brazing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and empathetic approach to teaching.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG, TIG, and Flux-Core work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
