Overview

The Electrical Wiring Fabricator C-130 position involves soldering, assembling, and checking aircraft electrical assemblies while operating automated wire processing machines. Candidates should have experience in electrical wire harness fabrication and assembly.

Responsibilities

  • Solders, final bench assembles, and performs continuity checks on aircraft assemblies.
  • Sets up and operates automated wire processing machines for wire processing.
  • Assembles and wires aircraft electrical, radio, and radar units.
  • Completes hookup of wiring, flexes, and cables, and troubleshoots electrical assemblies.
  • Forms and runs harnesses, breaking out and terminating wiring to terminal points.
  • Makes continuity checks of assemblies and harnesses and sells them to inspection.
  • Determines sequence of operations and disassembles aircraft electrical connectors.
  • Performs rework as necessary for the described operations.
  • Sets up automated wire processing machines using production documents.
  • Adjusts controls on wire numbering units for clear imprints.
  • Operates machines to fabricate wires and checks for proper functioning.
  • Corrects machine stoppages and minor malfunctions.
  • Checks and counts completed wires for compliance with production orders.
  • Ties and labels wire bundles for routing to other areas.
  • Assists electrical and electronic mechanics when assigned.

Requirements

  • Six months of electrical wire harness fabrication or electrical assembly experience.
  • Must perform and pass required Proficiency Demonstrations to retain employment.
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and production illustrations.
  • Ability to use arithmetic including decimals and fractions.
  • Prior electrical background in commercial, industrial, or military preferred.
