Overview

The Maintenance Technician at Pratt Industries is responsible for safely maintaining machinery and equipment to ensure continuous operation and exceptional quality. This role requires travel to various locations and involves performing mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety of equipment by checking and repairing safety guards and hydraulics.
  • Maintain inventory and supply of replacement parts, keeping written records and ordering parts as approved.
  • Keep all equipment in operating condition through preventative maintenance and assisting operators.
  • Ensure all safety features of forklifts and other machinery are functional and perform necessary repairs.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on balers, conveyors, and densifiers, including repairs and replacements.
  • Schedule and prioritize all repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Follow all company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 7 – 10 years’ experience with mechanical and maintenance duties.
  • Hands-on skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in varying climates and conditions.
  • Basic computer skills for data entry.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform basic math operations.
  • General knowledge of electrical prints, pneumatic pumps, and hydraulic systems.
  • Welding skills with stick and wire feed welding.
  • Must have own tools and be able to use them on the job.
  • Professional attitude and conduct.
  • Strong multi-tasking, interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • High degree of safety awareness and discipline.
  • Willingness to travel and work away from home as required.
  • Flexibility to meet business needs.
