Overview

We are currently seeking welders throughout the greater Cleveland area, willing to consider candidates with all levels of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Operate welding equipment to join metal components using TIG and MIG welding processes.
  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to avoid overheating and distortion of materials.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, grind, or bolt component parts for welding.
  • Use part specific fixtures when provided.
  • Weld components in various positions including flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead.
  • Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance with specifications.
  • Set up and operate welding equipment for efficient operation.
  • Examine weld for bead size and quality, and clean off excess weld spatter.
  • Manufacture and inspect parts to blueprint specifications.
  • Perform first piece, in-process, and last piece inspection per print.
  • Operate welding and fabrication tools safely.

Requirements

  • Must be self-managing and dependable.
  • Ability to work to production rates and deadlines.
  • Comfortable with various materials including aluminum, stainless steel, and steel.
  • Ability to read and use micrometers and dial calipers accurately.

What you'll be running

This posting calls for MIG and TIG work. MIG (GMAW) feeds a continuous wire electrode through a shielding-gas nozzle. It lays down metal fast and is forgiving on clean material, which is why it dominates production and light fabrication work. TIG (GTAW) uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode with filler added by hand, giving the operator the most control of any process. It is slow, demanding, and the standard for stainless, aluminum, and anything where the bead has to look as good as it holds.
