Overview

The Welder position at the Knoxville Plant involves TIG welding of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel parts, ensuring safety, accuracy, and timeliness in the welding area. The role requires collaboration with various departments and adherence to quality control and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG & TIG welding based on product needs.
  • Read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions.
  • Knowledge of QC and product specifications.
  • De-bur and grind metal as necessary to achieve proper surface texture.
  • Conserve resources to ensure budgetary integrity and client satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of welding safety procedures and willingness to use PPE.
  • Ability to perform Substrate Assembly Technician duties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • 1+ year(s) experience with metal working equipment in a metal fabrication facility.
  • Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
  • Welding certification a plus.
  • Prior work experience as a MIG or TIG welder helpful.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
  • Knowledge of safe workplace practices.

What you'll be running
