Overview
MP Materials is a leading U.S. manufacturer focused on rebuilding American industrial capability in autonomy, robotics, and electrification. The Fabricator/Welder role involves building and installing structural fabrications and equipment for magnet manufacturing operations, requiring expertise in welding and a commitment to safety and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural components from plate, tube, angle, and channel.
- Perform pipefitting and welding on carbon and stainless-steel process lines.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, weld symbols, isometrics, and P&IDs.
- Execute welding using GTAW/TIG, GMAW/MIG, and SMAW across all positions.
- Conduct layout and fit-up using jigs/fixtures and precision measuring tools.
- Cut and form material using various cutting and forming tools.
- Perform in-process and final quality checks and coordinate NDE as required.
- Collaborate with Engineering on prototyping and new builds.
- Rig, move, and install fabrications safely; operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
- Maintain welding/fabrication equipment and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Complete documentation for work orders and material traceability.
- Follow all safety policies and actively participate in 5S and housekeeping.
- Support planned outages, turnarounds, and urgent repairs.
