Overview

The Vessels Combo Welder position in Columbus, TX involves completing welding and fitting assignments under moderate supervision. The role requires proficiency in various welding processes and the ability to read blueprints, with a focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Use metal core MIG, fluxcore, subarc, TIG, or stick welding processes.
  • Weld brackets and braces and use grinders.
  • Position pieces to be welded into jigs and fixtures using measuring instruments.
  • Perform position welds on code materials.
  • Operate basic cutting equipment and proficiently use flame and plasma cutting torches.
  • Layout and mark weld points on parts or subassemblies.
  • Work with different types and sizes of structural materials.
  • Safely operate iron worker, overhead cranes, rigging, and various pneumatic hand tools.
  • Assemble components and fabricate equipment as needed.

Requirements

  • Must pass a 6G weld test for vessel or pipe.
  • Must pass a written fitters exam.
  • High school diploma or equivalent or equal combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience and/or training in welding.
  • Knowledge of different types and sizes of pipe and vessel material.
