Overview
The Robotic Welder position at Piping Technology & Products (PT&P) involves operating and supporting automated welding systems to produce high-quality welded components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. PT&P has been a leader in engineered products for piping systems since 1978, serving industries such as oil & gas, power, and chemicals.
Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and monitor robotic welding cells, preferably FANUC systems.
- Load, unload, position, and secure components in fixtures for proper fit-up.
- Select approved weld programs and make adjustments to robot parameters.
- Monitor weld performance and inspect completed parts for quality compliance.
- Perform minor manual weld touch-ups and rework as required.
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Troubleshoot routine alarms and basic cell interruptions.
- Complete production and quality documentation and maintain a safe work area.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in welding and 2+ years in Robotic Welding.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred.
- 2+ years of welding or metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Experience with FANUC robotic welding systems strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of GMAW/MIG welding processes and parameters.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and inspection requirements.
- Experience using basic measuring and inspection tools.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to identify routine equipment issues.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Ability to read, write, and understand safety procedures in English.
Additional Information
- Manufacturing floor with exposure to robotic equipment and welding environments.
- Work may occur in hot or cold conditions depending on the season.
- Overtime or weekend shifts may be required based on production needs.
