Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings and recreate piping details in shop and field.
• Bolt, clamp, and weld metal components of products using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Remove, fabricate, and weld fixed equipment repair panels.
• Perform welding repairs to boiler and exchanger tubes and tube sheets.
• Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
• Select equipment and plan layouts, assembly, and welding using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Licensed Journeyman-level pipefitter/welder or completion of state certified apprenticeship program.
• 5 years of industrial experience.
• 5 years of experience in pipefitting and/or welding.
• Welding experience preferred.
• Knowledge of tools, principles, methods, and techniques used in pipefitting and welding.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with procedures.
• Ability to perform minor rigging and signaling of cranes.
• Ability to operate and maintain grinding equipment.
• Ability to fabricate and roll plate.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and isometric drawings.
• Ability to perform basic math computations.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
