Responsibilities
- Interpret technical drawings and recreate piping details in shop and field.
- Bolt, clamp, and weld metal components of products using arc and arc gas welding equipment.
- Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Remove, fabricate, and weld fixed equipment repair panels.
- Perform welding repairs to boiler and exchanger tubes and tube sheets.
- Select type and size of pipe and related materials according to job specifications.
- Select equipment and plan layouts, assembly, and welding using knowledge of geometry and welding techniques.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Licensed Journeyman-level pipefitter/welder or completion of state certified apprenticeship program.
- 5 years of industrial experience.
- 5 years of experience in pipefitting and/or welding.
- Welding experience preferred.
- Knowledge of tools, principles, methods, and techniques used in pipefitting and welding.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and ability to comply with procedures.
- Ability to perform minor rigging and signaling of cranes.
- Ability to operate and maintain grinding equipment.
- Ability to fabricate and roll plate.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and isometric drawings.
- Ability to perform basic math computations.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
