Job Description

Overview

The Pipe Fitter position involves laying out, assembling, installing, or maintaining pipe systems and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment according to industry standards. The role requires intermediate experience and includes various responsibilities related to the fabrication and installation of piping systems.

Responsibilities

  • Reading isometric drawings and taking measurements for piping fabrication and installation.
  • Aligning, bolting, and clamping components of fabricated metal products for welding.
  • Assembling and securing pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications.
  • Positioning and securing materials during installation in accordance with plans and specifications.
  • Distinguishing varying thickness and types of metal materials.
  • Manually handling and securely applying rigging equipment.
  • Operating tools and equipment including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall.
  • Laying out and installing equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports.
  • Hydro testing piping systems.

Requirements

  • May require a high school diploma or its equivalent with previous experience in the field.
  • Must possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management and supervision.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
  • Able to meet all physical requirements.
  • Must have all required tools.
  • Expected to climb and work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Able to work overtime, nights, and weekends as required.
