Partek Laboratories Inc operates one of the largest and most technologically advanced metallurgical testing laboratories and welder certification facilities along the Gulf Coast. The Certified Welding Inspector is responsible for performing welding inspections, ensuring compliance with codes and standards while collaborating with various professionals to support quality control.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections on a variety of materials and components.
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer specifications.
• Prepare and review welding procedures.
• Conduct visual and dimensional inspections.
• Document inspection results and prepare detailed reports.
• Collaborate with technicians, engineers, and technical consultants to support quality control programs.
• Assist in resolving welding-related issues.

Requirements

• Strong welding inspection and welding skills.
• Practical experience in evaluating welds and understanding welding processes.
• Quality control and quality assurance skills.
• Familiarity with inspection standards, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.
• Inspection skills related to metallurgical testing and weld verification.
• Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) credential or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as AWS, ASME, API.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
• Relevant technical training or education in welding technology, materials science, or a related field.

• This is a full-time, on-site role based in Houma, LA.
