Overview
As a Pipefitter II at Modigent, you'll work independently on commercial mechanical service and installation of piping systems for HVAC applications, while assisting and mentoring junior team members. The role emphasizes hands-on training, certifications, and opportunities for career advancement in a people-first culture.
Responsibilities
- Independently repair, replace, and maintain piping systems and related equipment for commercial heating, cooling, and hydronic applications.
- Perform layout, cutting, threading, grooving, fitting, welding/brazing, and assembly of piping per blueprints and specifications.
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, flushing, system checks, and basic balancing.
- Assist in and lead portions of advanced installations, modifications, and troubleshooting.
- Lead standard service/repair calls, assess on-site issues, and communicate with customers.
- Document work accurately and maintain records for billing and quality tracking.
- Mentor Level I pipefitters and assist senior pipefitters on complex tasks.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and adhere to safety protocols.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in piping installation, repair, maintenance, or construction, preferably in commercial/industrial or HVAC.
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or vocational training preferred.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record required; welding/brazing certification is a plus.
- OSHA 10/30-hour certification encouraged.
- Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Proficient in pipefitting techniques and blueprint reading.
- Strong safety awareness, teamwork, and effective communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair routine wet-side systems.

Additional Information
- Primarily field-based in commercial/industrial settings with exposure to various hazards.
- Occasional regional travel within assigned market may be required.
