Overview
Austin Industrial is an industry leader providing maintenance, construction, and soft craft services to industrial companies across the U.S. The Pipefitter position involves laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems and related equipment for various industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
- Cut, thread, and hammer pipe to specifications using various tools.
- Attach pipes to walls and structures using brackets, clamps, and welding equipment.
- Plan pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to specifications.
- Select pipe sizes and types and related materials according to specifications.
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems and related machines and equipment.
- Turn valves to shut off steam, water, or other gases or liquids.
- Remove and replace worn components.
- Inspect work sites for obstructions and structural weaknesses.
- Operate motorized pumps to remove water from flooded areas.
- Work at heights and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Wear personal protective equipment as required.
- Perform various physical tasks including climbing, bending, and kneeling.
Requirements
- Must be a Journeyman Industrial Pipefitter.
- Minimum of 3 years of Pipefitting experience required.
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screening, and background check.
- Legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States.
Additional Information
- This is a long-term maintenance position.
- Full-time job working 40 hours a week.
- No per diem and no relocation funding.
