Overview

The Marine Structural Fabrication Technician is responsible for transforming paper plans into precise steel structures for marine vessels. This role involves reading blueprints, assembling structural components, and ensuring quality through careful measurement and alignment.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and layout specifications to plan fabrication and assembly.
  • Fit, align, and assemble structural components for ships, barges, and other marine vessels.
  • Measure, cut, grind, and tack metal parts to prepare joints and seams for welding.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, cutting torches, grinders, and other shipyard equipment safely and efficiently.
