Job Description

Overview

The Welder 2nd Shift position involves performing MIG welding on various structural steel components in a fast-paced production environment. The role requires attention to detail and knowledge of welding techniques, as well as adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in MIG weld processes on structural steel components.
  • Understand and follow safety rules in a manufacturing environment.
  • Coordinate welder settings, gun speed/travel, and gas flow.
  • Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards.
  • Decide on adjustments or gun manipulation as needed.
  • Determine repairs for pin holes and burn through.
  • Train and teach proper welding procedures.
  • Operate overhead crane and other lifting equipment.
  • Maintain specified shape, size, and penetration of welds.
  • Keep numerical and alphabetical sequences correct.
  • Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area.

Additional Information

  • Pay Rate: $18.25 per hour, plus $1.50 differential.
  • Work Schedule: 5:00 pm - 3:30 am with opportunities for Overtime.
