Overview
Labor One is hiring Journey-Level Specialty Welders (Alum, CuNi, Stainless; TIG) for a project in San Diego, California. Shipyard experience is required for this position, which involves welding pipe of various metals to support mechanical repairs and modernization of marine vessels.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction to a pipe welding helper, if assigned.
- Arrive at the designated work site at the assigned time.
- Work shifts and overtime as assigned.
- Be accountable for completion of daily work assignments.
- Comply with OSHA standards and the shipyard's best safety practices.
- Keep your work area clean and safe at all times.
- Ensure the work site is ready for hot work before commencing.
- Provide quality work and Objective Quality Evidence as required.
- Confer with the supervisor to resolve unexpected events.
Requirements
- Must pass the Alum, CuNi, Stainless or TIG weld test.
- Must have four years of pipe welding experience.
- Must be able to comprehend instructions and drawings.
- Must have a working knowledge of ship repair terminology.
- Must be physically capable to wear required personal protective equipment.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW theory.
- Must be able to certify in various welding joints.
- Must be able to interpret drawings and specifications.
- Must possess a working knowledge of equipment used in marine pipe welding.
- Must be able to operate and care for welding equipment and tools.
Additional Information
- 2nd shift only.
- 40 hours a week with overtime on approval.
- Walk-ins accepted at 1625 Hoover Avenue National City, CA 91950.
- Office hours are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
