Overview
The Steel Fabrication Shop Superintendent at Fab Manufacturing LLC will lead multifamily construction component production, ensuring high-quality operations in steel fabrication. This role involves mentoring welders and fabricators while managing shop workflows and maintaining safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and mentor field crews of welders, fitters, and fabricators to ensure high-quality project delivery.
- Manage the daily execution of shop workflows in strict accordance with project plans and safety protocols.
- Coordinate complex daily schedules and delegate workloads to maintain strict project timelines and budgets.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily production records and safety meetings to ensure project transparency.
- Resolve real-time technical and logistical issues on-site to prevent production delays or safety hazards.
- Implement production tracking tools and process improvements to systematically reduce material waste and downtime.
- Act as the primary field representative for the company values of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of fabrication or welding shop experience with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven ability to lead large crews and execute complex steel, aluminum, and precast concrete work.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting detailed blueprint drawings, weld symbols, and specifications.
- Deep knowledge of structural fabrication methods along with hands-on experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
- Strong communication and organizational skills necessary for managing production reporting and cross-functional teams.
