Overview

We are seeking experienced Structural Steel Welders to join our fabrication team at Littell Steel, an AISC-certified structural steel fabricator with over 80 years of history, focusing on quality craftsmanship for bridge and commercial construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural steel welding in accordance with shop drawings, welding procedures, and quality requirements.
  • Produce high-quality fillet, groove, and full-penetration welds.
  • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
  • Perform carbon arc gouging and weld preparation as required.
  • Weld shear studs and other structural steel components.
  • Inspect work for quality and dimensional accuracy before releasing assemblies.
  • Remove slag and clean welds to meet company and customer standards.
  • Work closely with fitters, inspectors, and production personnel to meet fabrication schedules.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area.

Requirements

  • Experience welding structural steel, bridge steel, or heavy fabricated assemblies.
  • Ability to weld in multiple positions, including vertical and overhead.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of FCAW, SMAW, and other structural welding processes.
  • Experience with carbon arc gouging.
  • Strong attention to quality, workmanship, and safety.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
