Overview

Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The D-Pole Welder position involves performing GMAW welding and fit-up tasks under the direction of the Production Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Use GMAW process to tack weld various small components to round shafts for pole assembly.
  • Manually position shafts for assembly and use cranes for lifting components.
  • Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly.
  • Use plasma torch to cut steel and utilize jigs for cutting holes in shafts.
  • Measure distances and angles using measuring tools.
  • Work in confined areas of the pole assembly line to assemble components.
  • Use motorized grinders, buffers, stone grinders, and drills to assist in assembly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Ability to use common manufacturing math.
  • 6 months of previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, or graduation from a Technical Training Program focused on welding.
  • Must pass GMAW rotational weld test and maintain certification.
  • Ability to produce good welds and read & interpret drawings.
  • Knowledge of safe working practices to prevent injuries.
  • Follow all Valmont safety guidelines and regulations.

Additional Information

  • Nights 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM.
  • Work hours may be required outside the standard shift schedule.
