Overview
Valmont is a Fortune 1000 company that focuses on advancing agricultural productivity and reimagining vital infrastructure. The D-Pole Welder position involves performing GMAW welding and fit-up tasks under the direction of the Production Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Use GMAW process to tack weld various small components to round shafts for pole assembly.
- Manually position shafts for assembly and use cranes for lifting components.
- Read and interpret drawings to determine parts needed for assembly.
- Use plasma torch to cut steel and utilize jigs for cutting holes in shafts.
- Measure distances and angles using measuring tools.
- Work in confined areas of the pole assembly line to assemble components.
- Use motorized grinders, buffers, stone grinders, and drills to assist in assembly.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be able to read and write English.
- Ability to use common manufacturing math.
- 6 months of previous welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, or graduation from a Technical Training Program focused on welding.
- Must pass GMAW rotational weld test and maintain certification.
- Ability to produce good welds and read & interpret drawings.
- Knowledge of safe working practices to prevent injuries.
- Follow all Valmont safety guidelines and regulations.

Additional Information
- Nights 1st Shift Standard Schedule: Monday - Friday 7AM - 3PM.
- Work hours may be required outside the standard shift schedule.
