Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and reliable operation of a facility and its production equipment, working across various systems to ensure safe and efficient operations. This role offers a contract-to-hire path with opportunities for career growth within a supportive maintenance team in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform break-fix and preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments to optimize performance.
• Repair or replace defective parts and recondition machine tools as needed.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and perform timely repairs on facility equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance using blueprints, technical manuals, and vendor specifications.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Maintenance Repair Area.
• Identify and request needed parts, supplies, and repair items.
• Provide support and backup for other maintenance department members.
• React to machine breakdowns with urgency to minimize production interruptions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment reliability.
• Set up and operate simple machining operations to fabricate or repair parts.
• Perform basic welding tasks to support repair and maintenance work.
• Install new equipment and move existing equipment for production use.
• Complete technical self-study programs for ongoing career development.
• Follow all safety-related policies and guidelines.
• Maintain situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a facility, production, or industrial environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in mechanical repair.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical failures and perform effective repairs.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance using technical documents.
• Skill in operating basic metalworking tools such as lathes and drill presses.
• Ability to perform basic welding tasks.
• Capability to identify required parts and communicate needs clearly.
• Strong sense of urgency when responding to machine breakdowns.
• Commitment to safety and recognition of unsafe conditions.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a maintenance team.
• Willingness to engage in self-directed technical learning.

Additional Information

• This is a fully onsite position in Dallas, TX.
• Typical hours are on first shift, starting at either 5:00 a.m. or 6:00 a.m.
• Workloads may support more than 50 hours per week.
• Steel-toe footwear is required.
