Overview
Safe Fleet, a leader in the truck equipment manufacturing industry, is seeking a Fabricator/Welder to join their team in fabricating, installing, and repairing Automated Tarp Systems for the trucking industry.
Responsibilities
- Fabricates steel and other metal parts as indicated by the work order and blueprints.
- Maneuvers fabrication machines, such as grinders, drill presses, brakes, rolls, shears, and flame cutters to cut, grind, and adjust material.
- Sets up and operates gas welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts, and verbal instructions.
- Regulates flow of gases for proper mixture.
- Cleans parts to remove contamination prior to welding.
- Sets up and operates all phases of brazing applications using clamps, fixtures, and torches working to specified tolerances.
- Selects proper flux.
- Sets up and operates stick welding machines to repair, join, or fabricate parts working with blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions.
- Reads a tape measure, uses hand tools, and semi-automatic manufacturing equipment.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- 1 year of welding experience preferred.
- Certification preferred but not required.
- Manual dexterity.
- Ability to learn on the fly.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally and productively with peers on the production floor.
