Overview
The Iron Worker role focuses on structural welding and steel erection for a large data center project in Mesa, AZ. The position emphasizes safety, quality, and professionalism while offering opportunities for skill development in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural welding using 7018 stick welding techniques in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Erect and install structural steel components safely and accurately on a data center construction project.
- Use rigging equipment to move, position, and secure steel members and materials as required.
- Read and interpret layout drawings and measurements to ensure precise placement and alignment of structural elements.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines on site, including those related to welding, rigging, lifting, and working at heights.
- Operate lifting equipment in accordance with lift certification and site protocols to move materials and components.
- Inspect welding work, steel erection, and rigging setups to maintain quality and structural integrity.
- Collaborate with site supervisors, welders, and other trades to coordinate work and meet project schedules.
- Maintain welding equipment, tools, and rigging gear in good working condition and report any issues promptly.
- Comply with OSHA standards and site-specific safety requirements throughout all phases of work.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience as an ironworker or structural welder.
- Proficiency in structural welding, including 7018 stick welding.
- Strong experience with steel erection and rigging in a construction environment.
- Ability to perform accurate layout work, including reading and applying measurements and drawings.
- Current D1.1 welding certification.
- OSHA10 certification.
- Lift certification and ability to safely operate lifting equipment.
- Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and OSHA regulations.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently on large-scale industrial or data center projects.

- Work takes place on a data center construction site in Mesa, AZ.
- The schedule consists of six 10-hour shifts per week, Monday through Saturday, with start times between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.
