Overview
Our client, a leader in heavy mining equipment repair and maintenance, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Welder to join their team. As a Welder, you will be an essential part of the mining support department, contributing to the repair and restoration of large-scale mining machinery.
Responsibilities
- Perform carbon arc gouging to remove cracks and damaged metal on heavy mining equipment.
- Prepare surfaces for welding by grinding and cleaning materials to ensure optimal weld quality.
- Weld structural repairs on draglines, shovels, and other large mining machinery.
- Finish welds by grinding and polishing to meet strict quality standards.
- Follow detailed repair instructions and operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
Requirements
- Previous welding experience, with a preference for carbon arc gouging expertise.
- Experience working on heavy mining equipment such as draglines and shovels is highly preferred.
- Ability to work safely in an industrial mining environment and adhere to safety policies.
- MSHA Part 48 certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Own tools including welding hood, jacket or sleeves, chipping hammer, tape measure, basic welding hand tools, and steel-toe or composite-toe boots.

- Pay Range: $25-$45 DOE
