Overview

You will serve as a Welder Leader in the Department of Navy at various naval shipyards and facilities. This position requires strong leadership skills and the ability to supervise welding operations while ensuring compliance with safety and security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Pass on instructions to members of the work group.
  • Check and report work progress of the group.
  • Perform work site inspections.
  • Receive job or work assignments from welding supervisor.
  • Check and report work progress of the group including written documentation and shift assist requests.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees must successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • This is a Drug Testing position requiring successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
