Overview

Modular Mission Critical™ is the manufacturing campus for M.C. Dean's modular product line for datacenters and critical infrastructure, located just north of Richmond, VA. The Fabrication Welding Technician is responsible for various welding duties, ensuring safety and functionality of items while working in a fast-paced, high-volume fabrication shop.

Responsibilities

• Repairs metal surfaces for safe and efficient use of items.
• Installs various items to complete projects safely and within established time frames.
• Maintains shop, equipment, tools, and vehicles to ensure availability and safety.
• Coordinates with administration and other trades to complete projects efficiently.
• Requests equipment and supplies to maintain inventory.
• Assists other trades personnel as required.
• Responds to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns.
• Transports various items including tools, equipment, and supplies.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in welding fabrication and design.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Physically demanding position requiring work in a fabrication shop environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, and quality-controlled fabrication shop.
• Must be able to access work areas using O.S.H.A approved ladders or stairs.
• Flexible work hours may be required, including evenings and weekends.
• Must maintain a professional and courteous image while working in the presence of customers.
• Must wear an M.C. Dean hard hat and safety glasses at all times.
• Must wear OSHA approved boot length pants and a shirt that covers the shoulders by seven inches.
• Must use special safety devices, tools, equipment, and protective clothing.

Additional Information

• Position requires ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must relocate a 12 foot stepladder without assistance.
• Works at various heights up to 60 feet.
• Routine physical activities include walking, climbing, lifting, and reaching.
