Overview

The Welder position at RTX involves performing advanced welding operations with limited supervision, ensuring precision and adherence to manufacturing specifications and quality standards. RTX is a leading aerospace and defense company that offers unique capabilities and opportunities to its employees.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in TIG welding tasks with minimal supervision.
• Learn and operate automatic and manual welding machines according to specifications.
• Perform cleaning operations after welding to maintain production quality.
• Inspect and check dimensions using precision gauges and measuring instruments.
• Learn alloy and assembly operations necessary for furnace operations.
• Operate CNC equipment as required to complete welding processes.
• Perform non-production welds as needed and support specialized welding tasks.
• Accurately read and interpret blueprints and specification sheets.
• Complete production documentation with accuracy.
• Support and adhere to all rules and guidelines set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement processes.
• Work extended shifts or overtime hours as required.

Requirements

• Typically requires HS diploma or vocational/technical education in related discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• 1 or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints.
• 1 or more years of experience with general hand and/or power tools.

Additional Information

• Working hours are 2nd shift from 3pm to 11:30pm, Monday to Friday.
• Position is onsite in San Marcos, TX.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
