Overview

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Pipe Welder/Pipefitter to join their growing team in Grand Rapids, MI. The role involves welding, fabricating, and assembling piping systems for industrial refrigeration and mechanical systems, requiring precision skills and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipe welding using TIG and Stick welding techniques on carbon steels and stainless steel piping.
• Cut, shape, and join metal pipes using various welding and pipefitting techniques.
• Read and interpret blueprints and schematics accurately.
• Adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Ensure compliance with B31.5 or pressure pipe standards.
• Perform welding on boiler pipe, glycol, and water pipe types including steel, carbon, and aluminum.

Requirements

• 5+ years of pipe welding experience.
• Proficient in pipe welding or pipefitting within an industrial setting.
• B31.5 Welding certification preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Experience in fitting and fabrication.
• Knowledge of stainless steel and carbon steel welding.

Additional Information

• The position operates on a 1st shift schedule from 6am to 4:30pm.
• Travel is required, with a cycle of 10 days on and 4 days off.
• The position is based out of Comstock Park, MI.
• Employees enjoy 120 hours of paid time off annually.
