Overview
Aerotek is immediately hiring qualified fabrication welders (MIG and Stick) in Kernersville, NC, offering a pay range of $25-30 per hour plus overtime. The role involves custom fabrication work on heavy equipment and requires proficiency in reading blueprints and operating various fabrication equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform custom fabrication work on heavy equipment, including filtration systems and body panels.
- Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine project requirements.
- Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as drill presses and plasma tables.
- Carry out MIG and Stick welding on steel components.
- Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal components according to specifications.
- Assemble fabricated parts and structures, verifying proper alignment and fit.
- Inspect workpieces and completed assemblies for accuracy and quality.
- Perform basic mechanical repair and installation tasks related to fabricated components.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
- Collaborate with shop leadership and team members to meet project deadlines.
- Participate in an in-person interview and weld test to demonstrate skills.
Requirements
- Proficiency with MIG welding on steel components.
- Proficiency with Stick welding on steel components.
- Hands-on experience in custom fabrication work.
- Ability to operate fabrication equipment including drill presses and plasma tables.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and repair.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.
- Comfort working primarily in fabrication rather than production-only welding.
- Ability to perform a weld test on steel.
