Overview

Aerotek is immediately hiring qualified fabrication welders (MIG and Stick) in Kernersville, NC, offering a pay range of $25-30 per hour plus overtime. The role involves custom fabrication work on heavy equipment and requires proficiency in reading blueprints and operating various fabrication equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform custom fabrication work on heavy equipment, including filtration systems and body panels.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine project requirements.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment such as drill presses and plasma tables.
• Carry out MIG and Stick welding on steel components.
• Measure, cut, shape, and fit metal components according to specifications.
• Assemble fabricated parts and structures, verifying proper alignment and fit.
• Inspect workpieces and completed assemblies for accuracy and quality.
• Perform basic mechanical repair and installation tasks related to fabricated components.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow shop safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with shop leadership and team members to meet project deadlines.
• Participate in an in-person interview and weld test to demonstrate skills.

Requirements

• Proficiency with MIG welding on steel components.
• Proficiency with Stick welding on steel components.
• Hands-on experience in custom fabrication work.
• Ability to operate fabrication equipment including drill presses and plasma tables.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical assembly and repair.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in using hand tools and power tools for fabrication tasks.
• Comfort working primarily in fabrication rather than production-only welding.
• Ability to perform a weld test on steel.
