Overview

The M.C. Dean, Inc. Maritime Division operates at shipyards globally, seeking a Welder to join their Alteration Installation Teams for C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines, offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work on C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines.
• Use ARC and gas welding equipment to fabricate or repair various products.
• Weld in all positions and for all types of metals and alloys.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and increase the size of metal parts.
• Organize and schedule welding jobs to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools.
• Work overtime upon management request.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of 1-2 years of applicable welding experience.
• ASNT NDT Level I Certification or relevant experience.
• One other relevant technical certification such as AWS Certified Welding Supervisor or AWS Certified Weld Inspector.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and shipboard installation drawings.
• Supervisory and leadership skills.
• Occupational Safety Haz-Mat Certification.
• Shipyard Competent Person Certification.
• Aloft/Climbing Certification.
• Working in Confined Spaces Certification.

Additional Information

• Work is primarily in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA, with possible travel to other shipyards and Navy ports.
• Must be a US Citizen eligible for clearance.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
