Overview
You will serve as a WELDER LEADER in the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY across various naval shipyards and facilities. This role involves supervising welding tasks and ensuring work progress is reported accurately.
Responsibilities
- Pass on instructions to members of the work group.
- Check and report work progress of the group.
- Perform work site inspections.
- Receive job or work assignments from the welding supervisor.
- Check and report work progress of the group including written documentation and shift assist requests.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty.
- This is a Drug Testing position; successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
- May be required to wear personal protective equipment continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work may be performed in areas with potentially harmful physical and chemical agents.
- May require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS.
- May be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

- Salary is based on geographical location and is subject to change with annual local wage surveys.

- Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management.
