Overview

IMIA, LLC is a national marine surface preparation painting contractor servicing every U.S. Port with a mobile workforce. The Structural Foreman supervises welding tasks and ensures quality and safety standards are met.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in welding and cutting.
  • Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine supplies and sequence of operations.
  • Requisitions supplies such as weld rods, weld wire, gases, and fixtures.
  • Inspects work to maintain specified standards and quality.
  • Trains workers in operation of equipment.
  • May set up machines or make trial welds.
  • May supervise fitting and assembly of structural frames.
  • Prepares records and reports about subordinates and tasks.
  • Trains new workers in the field or on current projects.
  • Maintains job cost control within prescribed budgets.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control.
  • Knowledge of welding machines and tools, including their designs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning work.
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment and training.
  • Six months to one year related supervisory experience and/or training.
  • Ability to follow instructions both verbally and in written form.
  • Familiarity with the metric system.
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods.
  • Willing to work 40+ hours a week.
  • Must pass substance abuse testing.
