Job Description

Overview

The Welder III at Vital Link Inc. is responsible for ensuring that all assemblies and parts are properly welded and delivered for processing, supporting both field and plant operations in the fabrication, maintenance, and installation of jet engine test facilities and sound suppression systems.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that welding of assemblies is in accordance with shop drawings.
  • Document all steps, inspections, and instructions as shown on the work order.
  • Maintain welding equipment and control supplies as required.
  • Clean all welds after welding and base metal before welding.
  • Follow Vital Link Inc. welding procedures and AWS standards.
  • Set up basic weldments for quality welding.
  • Use appropriate safety practices and equipment.
  • Report equipment and machinery problems to the Supervisor.
  • Keep welding machines and the weld-out area neat and orderly.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Conduct activities in accordance with ISO9000 policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; minimum 8 years' experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of steel and sheet metal fabrication and welding procedures.
  • Ability to read welding requirements of fabrication drawings.
  • Ability to perform moderate fit-up to meet drawing requirements.
  • Must pass AWS test in horizontal (2G) and vertical (3G) for structural steel.
  • Physical capability to perform welding work and moderate to heavy lifting.
