Overview
The WELDER LEADER position at the DEPARTMENT OF NAVY involves overseeing welding operations at various naval shipyards and facilities. The role includes supervising work groups, reporting on progress, and ensuring compliance with safety and security requirements.
Responsibilities
- Pass on instructions to members of the work group.
- Check and report work progress of the group.
- Perform work site inspections.
- Receive job or work assignments from welding supervisor.
- Check and report work progress of the group including written documentation and shift assist requests.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
- New employees must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- May be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
- This is a Drug Testing position requiring successful completion of a pre-employment drug test.
- Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
- May require exposure to harmful physical and chemical agents.

- Salary is based on geographical location and is subject to change with annual local wage surveys.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS.
- Temporary promotions may be extended up to 5 years at the discretion of management.
