Overview
Oshkosh Corporation's Vocational segment is seeking a Welder I for their new facility in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. The role involves interpreting blueprints and performing various welding tasks while contributing to a culture focused on teamwork and individual growth.
Responsibilities
- Set up and assemble various components for welding
- Weld out of position
- Set up machine for welding
- Weld aluminum components (bench, MIG, TIG)
- Drill and grind welds
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal communication skills
- Regular attendance required
- Communicate verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment
- Follow written and verbal instructions to complete tasks
- Apply measurements to parts and equipment
- Use and operate hand and power tools
- Lift light and/or heavy parts on and off a cart, floor, shelf, etc.
- Operate a crane/hoist for heavy lifting
- Assist co-workers with heavy lifting of parts
- Understand the differences in parts and tools
- All other duties and responsibilities that are assigned
Requirements
- 6 months or more of relevant experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent education
- Previous welding experience
- Proficient in MIG welding as demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test
- Welding/Metal Fabrication certificate, technical diploma or associate degree in related field (standout qualification)
- Previous experience constructing large weldments (standout qualification)
- Blueprint reading skills (standout qualification)

- Competitive Pay starting at $21.32 per hour, increasing to $24.09 within the first 6 months
