Overview

NSC Staffing is seeking Tig Welders with 2-5 years of experience for an exciting project in San Diego, focusing on the repair and modernization of marine vessels. This position offers an excellent opportunity for certified welders ready for their next challenge.

Responsibilities

• Read a tape measure.
• Layout Material.
• Fit-Up Material.
• Rigging.
• Read a blueprint/drawing/tech manual.
• Comprehensive Torch and Weld Work.
• Use Radius Gage.
• Operate Hand Power Tools.
• Utilize Shop Tools/Equipment.

Requirements

• Must have verifiable Tig experience.
• Ability to comprehend and utilize blueprints, sketches, drawings, and technical manuals to weld metals.
• Must have a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and be able to multitask.
• Understand the Work Process to measure, cut, and weld metal to the required specifications.
• Ability to weld metal using various requirements and procedures such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with ongoing deadlines.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Understanding of the Ship repair industry.
• Must be DBIDS and TWIC credential-eligible.
• The pipe welding test is given in a restricted position (6 G) on a 5'' schedule 80 carbon steel pipe.

Additional Information

• Open-air conditions such as noise, hot and cold, and in an office-controlled environment.
• May have to visit projects aboard ships, rigs on and offshore, and confined spaces.
• Visits may require standing on various surfaces at differing angles, bending over, crouching, and climbing obstructions.
