Overview

Komatsu is seeking welders for their 2nd shift to perform single and multi-pass welding using various techniques to fabricate chassis for electric mining trucks. The role requires working from blueprints and manufacturing plans while ensuring safety and quality in fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Perform all phases of chassis fabrication for mining trucks.
• Fabricate sub-components and setup frames for welding.
• Perform cleanup of welding passes.
• Correct welding flaws identified by inspections.
• Use cranes to move plate steel and components for setup.
• Work closely with the Engineering Department as necessary.
• Work from engineering prints and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Ensure quality and safety of own work using appropriate protective equipment.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of welding experience.
• Proficiency in GMAW, GMAW-P, and Sub Arc Welding.
• Ability to weld in all positions and run multiple pass welds.
• Skill to read and interpret weld drawings and symbols.
• Ability to use carbon arc gouging, acetylene torch, grinders, and general manufacturing tools safely.
• General math skills and ability to read a tape measure.
• Must pass appropriate welding tests.
• Complete a physical commensurate with DOL Medium duty work requirements, including drug testing.

Additional Information

• Onsite position located in Peoria, Illinois, USA.
• Hiring range is $34.49 per hour.
