Overview

BAE Systems is seeking various skill levels of production welders for their Jacksonville Maritime Solutions shipyard, supporting submarine manufacturing. The role involves welding structural members and plating, along with various other welding tasks.

Responsibilities

• Weld newly installed structural members and plating.
• Weld re-installed temporary access openings.
• Weld on a variety of materials using multiple processes.
• Participate in continuous training for welding processes.
• Use pneumatic tools such as grinders and wire brushes.
• Perform oxy/fuel pre-heat and carbon/arc gouging.
• Verify weld size using gauges.
• Read and interpret weld symbols and work packages.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• MIG Welding experience or training.
• Structural welding experience.
• Vocational, Technical and Community Colleges or Apprentice programs.
• Experience in construction or manufacturing environments.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to interpret welding procedures and structural drawings.
