Responsibilities

• Support C4ISR system installations on ships and submarines.
• Work overtime upon management request.
• Maintain and safeguard company equipment and tools.
• Maintain and safeguard welding inventory.
• Organize and schedule welding jobs to an on-time completion.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A minimum of three to four years of applicable welding experience.
• ASNT NDT Level III Certification preferred.
• One other relevant technical certification or qualification such as AWS Certified Welding Supervisor or AWS Certified Weld Inspector.
• Read and interpret specifications.
• Read and understand shipboard installation drawings, blueprints, and job orders.
• Use a variety of ARC and gas welding equipment.
• Weld in all positions and for all types of metals and alloys.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding.
• Repair broken or cracked parts and fill holes.
• Possess supervisory and leadership skills.
• Occupation Safety Haz-Mat Certification.
• Shipyard Competent Person Certification.
• Aloft/Climbing / Climbing Shipyard Stairs and Ladders Certification.
• Working in Confined Spaces Certification.
• Training and the ability to safely lift and move objects of 100 LBS.

Additional Information

• Work is primarily in San Diego, CA and Norfolk, VA but may require travel to other shipyards in the USA and Navy ports outside the USA.
• Must be a US Citizen eligible for clearance.
• Must pass a background investigation.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Position may require ongoing or intermittent use of a company vehicle.
