Overview

RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, is seeking a Welder for their manufacturing operations in Clayville, NY. The role involves performing various welding operations and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Perform hand and machine fusion welding operations to construct powder containers.
• Conduct routine maintenance work on equipment with minimal supervision.
• Prepare parts for fabrication through grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
• Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans and seal them for shipment.
• Comply with company rules and regulations as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Support the cell's continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
• Utilize basic computer skills for general use of Microsoft Office.
• Apply knowledge of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
• Problem solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant experience.
• Strong attendance record.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work hours outside of the regular shift.
• Good mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to wear a respirator.
• Physical ability to ascend and descend stairs, stand for extended periods, bend, squat, twist, reach overhead, and lift up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

• Position requires onsite work.
• Work schedule is Monday - Thursday (4x10) from 2:00pm to 12:00am.
• Candidates are responsible for commuting to and from the assigned site.
