JLG, an Oshkosh company, is committed to providing innovative solutions in the access market since 1969. The Welder position involves operating welding equipment to fabricate high-quality parts while ensuring precision and adherence to safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Pass and maintain certification through the Welder Qualification Test.
- Operate overhead cranes to safely position parts for welding.
- Adjust machine settings for proper weld configurations.
- Clean finished welds using tools such as grinders, wire wheels, and needle guns.
- Heat, form, and weld metal parts in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions.
- Use measuring tools accurately to ensure specification compliance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and follow verbal/written work instructions.
- Assemble and weld metal components with precision.
- Position and secure parts correctly prior to welding.
- Cross-train and work across production areas as needed.
- Maintain attention to detail to meet quality standards.
- Adhere to all safety, cleanliness, and 6S procedures.
- Work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Requirements
- Ability to wear a standard welding helmet for extended periods.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance, in-person and on-site.
- Welding certification from an accredited institution.
- 1+ year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
