Overview

GTC is seeking a Fabricator/Welder for aerospace and defense manufacturing, where the work involves welding metal components to create parts and systems that are critical to defense contracts. The company emphasizes quality craftsmanship and offers employees an ownership stake in the business.

Responsibilities

  • Weld metal components together to fabricate parts, products, and assemblies.
  • Read blueprints, work orders, and layouts to execute welding procedures.
  • Set up and operate shears, ironworkers, and cut-off saws.
  • Remove burrs and sharp edges using files, hand grinders, and wire brushes.
  • Repair and reshape components using mechanical means with or without heat.
  • Communicate clearly with supervisors, fellow fabricators, and quality personnel.
  • Proactively find tasks that need to be done after completing assignments.

Requirements

  • One to three years of MIG or TIG welding experience.
  • Ability to produce sound welds using GTAW, GMAW, or FCAW processes.
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to work safely in a fabrication environment with welding fumes and debris.
  • Physically capable of lifting and positioning materials up to 75 pounds.
