Job Description

Overview

The MIG Welder position at Vertiv involves fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components using Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) techniques based on blueprints and customer specifications. The role requires adherence to safety protocols and quality standards in a warehouse production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on sheet metal and structural components using jigs and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and weld symbols.
  • Adjust welder settings including voltage, amperage, wire feed speed, and shielding gas flow.
  • Clean and prepare surfaces; grind or sand and finish welded parts.
  • Inspect completed joints for defects to meet strength and cosmetic standards.
  • Adhere to 5S standards and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Perform basic machine maintenance.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of industrial welding experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand verbal instructions.
  • Proficiency in GMAW/MIG techniques and knowledge of metal properties.
  • High school diploma or GED; technical school training is preferred.
  • Ability to lift heavy materials up to 50lbs and work in varied temperatures.
