Overview

The Pipefitter position at the Bath VA Medical Center in Bath, NY involves modifying, maintaining, and repairing various high, medium, and low pressure piping systems. The role requires a range of plumbing and steam fitting tasks in a healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, adjust, clean, and repair plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Maintain steam operated equipment, heating and water systems, kitchen and laundry equipment.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on utility systems.
  • Apply steam fitting and pipefitting methods to solve on-site issues.
  • Interpret and apply building plans and blueprints.
  • Utilize shop mathematics to lay out angles, arcs, and circles.
  • Conduct repairs and installations in hard-to-reach places.
  • Lay out and install piping, risers, and flexible branches.
  • Test systems for proper circulation, flow, pressure, and drainage.
  • Diagnose plumbing system malfunctions and make repairs or modifications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
