Job Description
Overview
General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking a Sheet Metal Mechanic J4 for their Sheet Metal Shop in Norfolk, Virginia. This role involves working on shipboard construction HVAC and habitability, utilizing various sheet metal fabrication equipment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings.
- Layout, fabricate, install, and repair sheet metal products.
- Have excellent knowledge of various types of metals and sizes.
- Install metal joiner bulkheads, doors, berths, galleys, and office outfitting.
- Operate press brake, hand brake, power rollers, and general sheet metal fabrication equipment.
- Write WAFs and hot work tickets.
- Perform trade quality assurance work with little to no supervision.
Requirements
- Must meet all Journeyman 3 Sheetmetal Mechanic requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of Habitability layout and installation.
