Overview

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking a Maintenance Metal Fabricator/Welder A to join their team in Ridley Park, PA. This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of non-production sheetmetal parts and structural steel assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Layout, fabricate, assemble, install, repair, alter, and maintain non-production sheetmetal parts and structural steel assemblies.
• Plan and sequence work operations for non-production sheetmetal parts and structural steel assemblies.
• Utilize knowledge of trade practices and blueprints to determine locations, routing, fastening points, clearances, brazing, soldering, bolting, and welding joints and seams.
• Setup and operate sheetmetal fabricating machines.
• Setup and operate welding equipment to fabricate objects such as material racks, guard rails, and beams.
• Assemble complex units, including paint booth waterfalls, ventilation, dust collection, and air conditioning duct systems.
• Provide instruction to employees designated to assist with the above duties.
• Complete and/or process paperwork pertinent to equipment records and maintenance.
• Perform work in accordance with oral and written instructions from management and in conformance with company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

• 3+ years of education through trade school or state apprentice program.
• Ability to work variable shifts.
• Experience with welding/cutting operations on steel/aluminum and various other metals.
• Experience with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Experience providing technical and operational expertise in the analysis, assessment, fabrication, and repair/maintenance recommendations.

Additional Information

• This is an hourly position governed by the UAW Collective Bargaining agreement.
• Salary range is $32.97 - $52.07.
