Overview

At RTX, the world's largest aerospace and defense company, the Welding (Can Fabrication) position involves performing routine maintenance and fabrication tasks with minimal supervision. The role is essential for optimizing equipment uptime and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in the aerospace and defense sector.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance work on equipment with little to no supervision to optimize uptime.
  • Prepare all parts to be fitted together for fabrication, including grinding, polishing, and cleaning.
  • Fabricate stainless steel extrusion cans.
  • Seal and prepare cans for shipment.
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Support the cell’s continuous improvement and all CORE and EH&S initiatives.
  • Work alone with little to no supervision.
  • Problem solve minor fabrication and equipment issues.
  • Work a schedule of Friday - Sunday (3x12) 7:00pm - 7:00am.

Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Basic level computer skills, including general use of Microsoft Office.
  • Clear understanding of shop mathematics involving decimals and fractions.
  • Working knowledge of fusion welding processes and terminology.
  • Strong attendance record.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including ascending and descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

Additional Information

  • The position is onsite and requires commuting to and from the assigned site.
  • The salary range for this role is $24.00 per hour.
