Overview

The Submerged Arc Seam Welder position involves the setup and operation of welding machines to create continuous seams on steel electrical poles and other structures during the evening shift.

Responsibilities

• Fuse metal structural components using Submerged Arc Welding processes.
• Perform welding operations from blueprints and specifications.
• Set up work and determine operation sequences.
• Use hand tools and measuring devices for assembling operations.
• Move pole shafts using an overhead crane.
• Maintain a safe and productive work environment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld setup parameters.
• Knowledge of welding properties of various metals.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Wear required personal protective equipment.
