Overview

AstroForge is a startup focused on making space resources accessible on Earth by mining asteroids for valuable minerals. As a CNC Operator, you will set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines to manufacture high-precision aerospace components in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machines and conventional machine tools.
  • Work from blueprints, sketches, CAD/CAM files, and technical drawings.
  • Work with materials like aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and carbon composites.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and workpieces.
  • Start and monitor machine operation to detect malfunctions.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and first article verifications.
  • Test and verify conformance of finished workpieces to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Document production data, inspection results, and process notes.
  • Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams for DFM feedback.
  • Maintain and improve the workshop environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • Proven experience as a CNC machine operator, preferably in aerospace.
  • Basic understanding of CAM software and 3D CAD tools.
  • Skilled in operating CNC machinery and precision measurement instruments.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work onsite in Seal Beach, CA.
  • Availability to work evening/overnight or weekend shifts.

Additional Information

  • Salary range is $22 - $28 per hour.
