Nationwide Field Welding Specialist (Aerospace & Industrial)About the Journey

Compensation & Assignment Details

Pay: $38/hr and up (commensurate with experience and project complexity) Per Diem: $125–$180 per day (location dependent, tax-free) Project Length: Open-ended; typical engagements last 6+ months Travel: 100% within the United States Travel Background: Preferred but not mandatory Commitment: Remain on-site as long as the client requires support

Day-to-Day Impact

Execute MIG, TIG, Flux-Core, Stick, or Submerged Arc welding aligned to approved WPS Fit, assemble, and weld components to meet code and customer specifications Interpret blueprints and welding symbols; collaborate closely with fabrication, quality, and engineering teams Select and set up consumables, equipment, and materials per WPS guidelines Conduct visual checks and verify weld quality to code and client requirements Document work accurately while adhering to rigorous safety and quality protocols

Your Background

Experience: Minimum 5 years of verifiable welding experience (MIG/GMAW, TIG/GTAW, Flux-Core/FCAW, Stick/SMAW, Submerged Arc/SAW) Certification: Current or previous welder qualifications with the ability to recertify Technical Strength: Strong command of welding codes, WPS, and quality standards; blueprint and weld-symbol fluency Materials: Experience with carbon steel, stainless, and alloys preferred

Codes and Standards (examples include):

ASME Section IX (U, R or PP) AWS D17.1 (A, B or C) API 1104 AWS D1.1 NAVSEA Other AWS, ASME or API codes

Note: Clients frequently administer weld tests on site during your first one to two days.

Preferred Exposure

Aerospace, industrial, refinery, or power generation environments Familiarity with NDE: VT, PT, MT, RT, UT Proficiency welding in multiple positions

What We Provide

Per Diem: $125–$180 daily (tax-free) Overtime: Available as driven by client needs Mileage Reimbursement: $0.725/mile to the job site (paid on first paycheck)
